The countries/leagues and clubs of EURO 2016 players

This is another post about the upcoming EURO 2016. I thought it would be interesting to see if I can find some "statistics" about the players participating in the tournament.

The first one is about the countries/leagues in which the players are competing. In accordance to a couple of websites there is a total of 552 players of which ~30% are playing in the English Premier League and the German Bundesliga combined.

Adding the lower divisions (2nd, 3rd, 4th) of these countries, the percentage increases to ~37%.

The big 5 leagues provide 269 players and therefore ~49%.

The second chart is about the clubs that provide the most players to the tournament.

There is a very nice interactive chart in the "Berliner Zeitung" (in German) showing each player, his club and the respective country.

Interestingly, Borussia Dortmund is missing in the chart, however, it is mentioned HERE that the club provide 12 players to the EURO 2016 tournament.
